Clay County Murder Case Continued to May 21

A man charged with first-degree murder in Clay County will reappear in court May 21 following a status hearing Thursday.

30-year-old Jacob Stanley Snyder was previously indicted on 12 counts in connection with the shooting death of 11-year-old Harley Evans last fall. Evans’ father Justin Evans and his girlfriend, Kelsey Rhoton, were also wounded in the shooting.

Snyder was not required to appear during Thursday’s status hearing as Judge Gary McKenzie set the next hearing date.

Snyder previously appeared in court Dec. 13 for an initial hearing, where video surveillance evidence and officer testimony placed him at the crime scene when the shooting occurred.
