Employees of the Clay County School System will be receiving bonuses.
Director of Schools Matt Eldridge said full-time staff are getting $1,000 with half-time getting $500.
“They’ve done a great job, and they’re worth more than that,” Eldridge said. “We can’t tell them how much we appreciate them and all they’ve done this year for the kids and working through COVID and all the problems it has caused. They’ve done a great job.”
The Clay County Board of Education approved the action during its latest meeting. Eldridge said the bonuses will likely come out this June.
A combination of state and school money will be used for the funds.
