Cumberland Medical Center will begin processing DUI blood samples in an agreement with the City of Crossville.
Crossville City Council approved the agreement during their meeting Tuesday evening.
Under terms of the agreement, Crossville Police must present hospital personnel with a valid, legal search warrant before taking samples. An officer must also have probable cause to charge a suspect with DUI before requesting a blood draw.
The cost to the city is approximately $14 for each blood test performed.
City Attorney William Ridley finalized the decision following Council’s unanimous approval of the agreement.
