Celina residents are now able to pay water bills online.
Mayor Tonya Spears said Wednesday citizens can use the city’s new website to pay utilities.
“When it’s tax time, we’ll be taking tax payments over the internet as well,” Spears said. “The website isn’t fully completed yet, but it’s still a work in progress. But we are able to take online payments.”
The City of Celina had previously shared a website with the Clay County Chamber of Commerce and county government on dalehollowlake.org.
Spears said the change will be the first time Celina has been able to accept debit or credit cards as payment.
“This is something new that has just now become available and we were not capable of taking payments of debit cards and credit cards,” Spears said. “Now we’ll be able to do that through our office as well through the drive-thru.”
The website was provided to the City of Celina at no cost through the Tennessee Municipal League (TML). An official launch for the website has not yet been announced.
More information will be added to the website in the coming weeks, including information on city officials and a business directory. Citizens can also message the city through the new website via a contact form.
