Cameron Sexton Wins 25th House District

Cameron Sexton will return to serve the Upper Cumberland in Nashville.

Sexton received 81 percent of the vote beating Democratic candidate Robyn Deck to represent the 25th house district. Sexton said he looks forward to the next two years of service.

“It is an honor to represent this area of the state,” Sexton said. “I feel very blessed to work with a lot of our other members. Republicans and Democrats who serve the Upper Cumberland area and continue working together to make us the best state in America.”

Sexton said the high voting turnout gives Tennessee hope of great things to come in the future.

“For people to have that much enthusiasm to go to vote where 70, 75 percent of the voters turn out is a very positive message, and it is very powerful,” Sexton said. “And it gives hope that in the future that we will be able to achieve even greater things as a community.”

Sexton is the current Speaker of the House and will look to hold that position again when the Tennessee General Assembly reconvenes.

“I was able to do something I never achieved before, which is to get over 80 percent of the vote which is very strong,” Sexton said. “I appreciate everybody having the trust in me to represent them in my district. I look forward to continuing that service and continuing to represent them to the best of my ability.”

Over 30,000 votes were tallied for the house seat. The 25th district includes Putnam, Van Buren and Cumberland Counties.
