The Calfkiller Highway joint water project with Putnam County and Monterey is moving forward.
The County Commission voted for County Mayor Randy Porter to proceed to the engineering phase. The water line extension would reach residents that are currently not served with public water.
On design completion, the project would go out to bid. A combination of federal COVID money from each government as well as state infrastructure money is funding the $4.3 million project.
All tap fees for residents wanting to use the water will be covered. However, any future residents that want to utilize the line most pay a tap fee.
