Byrdstown will host another outdoor movie night this weekend with the film “War With Grandpa” at the Byrdstown Pavilion Friday night.
Events Committee Member Stephanie Coutta said that in addition to this weekend’s feature film attendees can expect a plethora of other activities.
“We’re going to have giant outdoor games.” Coutta said. “Like giant Jenga, giant checkers, Connect4, things like that sponsored by the Rains Agency. Jessica Parrott of the Rains Agency has also sponsored a great giveaway for us. It’s four Dollywood tickets.”
They’ll also have food trucks, concessions, and Coutta said the event is a chance for a fun, family-friendly time.
“I’m excited just to give families something fun to do together,” Coutta said. “Just being outside during the summer. You know we’ve all been cooped for up for a long time so I think everybody is ready to just get out and enjoy their summer.”
Coutta said that because of the community, this movie night feels just a little more special.
“My favorite part about Byrdstown is that it is a small town and we all know each other,” Coutta said. “So it’s almost like family movie night. Everybody just is able to come out, hang out and have fun.”
The fun starts at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at dusk. The event is free, but money will be required for concessions and some of the other activities.
