Butler Arrested for Domestic Assault

Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested former Senior Lifestyles owner Stephanie Butler, 44, last night for domestic assault.

The District Attorney’s Office investigated a disturbance complaint against Butler on August 17.

“The criminal investigator within the District Attorney’s Office, who has been investigating her on other matters, was contacted by a family member and then went to interview the children,” DA Bryant Dunaway said. “The investigation led to probable cause to issue warrants for [Butler’s] arrest for domestic assault against three children.”

According to the report, Butler assaulted her daughter, step-daughter and son during an unexpected encounter at Speedway in Algood.

According to the warrant, Butler allegedly grabbed her daughter and would not let her go. The report said Butler became violent after her son threatened to call the police. Butler also attempted to enter the son’s locked car door.

Dunaway said the domestic assault case will be handled separate from Butler’s grand jury case involving her arrest for elder abuse and neglect.
