T-DOT crews have cleared Cane Creek Road in Van Buren County after a large boulder fell from a bluff Tuesday night.
This occurred at log mile 4.5 on Highway 285 and was reopened at roughly 2:00 PM.
Spokesperson Rae-Anne Bradley said the boulder is roughly 12 to 14 feet long, seven feet tall and seven feet wide. Bradley said the roadway had been closed since 1:00 AM this morning until Wednesday afternoon.
She said the boulder was in the middle of the highway, making the route impassible. Bradley said that due to the size and location of the boulder, crews had to use an excavator with a jackhammer to break up the boulder.
