The Biz Foundry accepting applications for its second Pitch It event for entrepreneurs in recovery.
It is collaborative program with the non-profit and UCDD’s Recovery2Work. Vice President Tiffany Anton said the goal is to provide recovering addicts funding to make their business ideas into reality.
The application deadline is January 27th. Anton said applicants will be required to submit an essay over their story and present their business within five minutes.
Anton said the first round held last year was a success. Anton said two new businesses received $15,000 with the other four participants still receiving $500. Anton said that same funding will be available in this second event.
A panel of judges will select the winners in a public event at the Biz Foundry on February 6th. Details about the event and applying to pitch can be found on the non-profit’s website.
