The additional road frontage once the Big Mac Drive extension project is complete has some companies interested in moving to Algood.
That is according to City Administrator Keith Morrison. Morrison said work on the second entrance to the Walmart parking should begin soon.
“We’ve got some potential folks that have expressed interest in the area, but we don’t have any definitive names to give out or can’t release any information on who is actually looking at it. We anticipate there will be some real interest in that area, especially once that road is finished.”
Morrison said the city is working with the awarded contractor on the delivery of materials to set a project completion date. Morrison said he thinks the project will be an important factor for growth as well as traffic relief.
The plans call for a two-lane road that would extend past Zaxby’s, connect to the back of the Walmart parking lot and install a stop sign.
