Baxter Depot Hosting Community Trunk-Or-Treat Event Saturday

Get your cars ready and costumes prepared for Saturday’s trunk-or-treat held by the Friends of the Baxter Depot.

Friends Member Jeanie Lee said the fun begins at 5:00 p.m. at the Baxter Depot.

“You can park and walk to the depot, and there will be cars lined up in the parking lot and also on Broad Street in front of businesses,” Lee said. “So, it will be easy for them to get to.”

Lee said several local churches and businesses will all be participating. Lee said the family fun does not stop with the candy. Lee said the downtown area is decorated and two bouncy houses will be on site.

“There will be some hot cocoa for different ones, too,” Lee said. “Anybody that wants to come to the Depot we will pass out hot cocoa. So, it’ll just be an evening of fun.”

Lee said the Depot started the event some three years ago. Lee said participation has grown each year with over 400 trunk-or-treaters last year. Lee said she is expecting 100 cars to be decorated and handing out candy.

“Also, I know there’s going to be the Methodist Church there right on Main Street and the Nunally’s Druge Store, American Farmhouse, and I’m sure there are others,” Lee said. “I know there will be some churches that will be bringing in there vans and handing out candy.”

Lee said the festivities come to a close at 7:00 p.m. Lee said the Depot trunk-or-treat is a separate event from Baxter’s planned trunk-or-treat on Sunday. Lee said for more information, contact (931)- 319-1367.
