Fentress Using Sports Betting Revenue For Highway Department

Fentress County approved allocating its portion of online sports betting revenue to the highway department. The county will receive $1,980 from the first quarter of The Sports Gaming Act. Fentress County Commissioners approved purchasing a building for a stand-alone UT Medical Center facility. Commissioners agreed to purchase the old Fentress Health Systems building for $655,707. Overton Exploring Grants For Drug Enforcement, Deputy Safety

The Overton County Sheriff’s Department is applying for six grants to help with community and deputy safety. Sheriff John Garrett said he hopes to add five to seven bulletproof vests.
