New Scoreboard Coming For Clay Co. HS

The Clay County High School Football Field will have a new scoreboard for the coming season. The Clay County Board of Education accepted a bid from M.T. Scores, Inc. in Smyrna to install the new scoreboard and two play clocks at both ends of the field. The Crossville City Court docket scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed until October 6 at 8:30 a.m. The Crossville Police Department reports the move is due to continuing COVID health concerns and new mandates from the Supreme Court. Former Jackson Clerk Held For Probation Violation

Former Jackson County Clerk Amanda Stafford is being held in Gainesboro for a probation violation. Jackson County Sheriff Marty Hinson said Stafford was arrested by the Sheriff’s Department. The Putnam County Election Commission set 11 p.m. as the cutoff time for counting votes for August’s election. Election Commission Administrator Michele Honeycutt said elections officials across the state have expressed concerns over how long it will take to count absentee ballots on election night August 6.
