Atwood Elected Chair Putnam Commissioners

Mike Atwood will serve as the new chair of the Putnam County Commissioners.

In the first meeting of the new fiscal year, county commissioners reorganized the committees and leadership. The two-year terms begin immediately.

Atwood serves district 12. He replaces Ben Rodgers who has served as chairman the last two years. Jim Martin was elected as chair pro-tem.

“The chair’s to be impartial, neutral, I’ll do my best to do that,” Atwood said. “That I promise you. The second is open door, open telephone.”

Chris Cassety voted chair of the Fiscal Review Committee with Jonathan Williams serving as vice-chair. Kathy Dunn will chair the Planning Committee. Adam Johnson will serve as co-chair. The nominating committee will be led by Terry Randolph with the vice chair position to be held by Cindy Adams.
