Clay County Commission voted to fill the vacancy of its general sessions judge on Monday night.
Mayor Dale Reagan said that out of three very capable candidates, County Attorney Jimmy White was selected with nine votes out of ten.
“Jimmy was general sessions judge a few years ago and he served out eight years,” Reagan said. “And of course he’s been the attorney here in the county for many, many years.”
The General Sessions Judge Vacancy came about when former judge Dianna Monroe was selected as the new director of Clay County Schools. White’s term will begin on January 1st.
