Allons Elementary Welcomes Ryan Ledbetter As New Principal

Allons Elementary School has found its new principal in Ryan Ledbetter.

Ledbetter was formerly the Assistant Principal at Wilson Elementary for six years. He said that while the move is challenging he’s looking forward to meeting it head on and getting to know the community.

“I think all communities are a little bit different,” Ledbetter said. “All faculty and schools are just a little bit different, and learning the intricacies of each school, and learning the community and what’s important to the community I think is one of the greatest challenges of a new principal.”

Ledbetter said that he thinks leadership is best approached by leading through example. He said he wants his faculty and staff to know that he’s invested in them.

Ledbetter said that he’s excited to lead the teachers in a way that will inspire their students.

“This is a role I’ve looked forward to over the last couple of years,” Ledbetter said. “For the last six years I’ve been the Assistant Principal over at Wilson Elementary here in Overton County, so I’ve done my behind the scenes work and now I’m ready for the next step. I’m just excited to be here.”

Ledbetter said while he’s excited for his new role, there is a sense of bittersweet to leave his Wilson Elementary family.

“I started my teaching career there,” Ledbetter said. “My children started their life-long learning journey there and I’m bringing my children with me. It was definitely emotional leaving friends and coworkers and moving my children as well.”
