Algood Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Arrests

Algood officer Joe Harsh arrested two individuals for drug charges during a traffic stop Friday.

At approximately midnight, Officer Harsh conducted at a traffic stop in the Walmart parking lot.  According to a press release, officers identified paraphernalia items in plain view.

Officers identified the driver as Jiteshbhai Patel.  A consensual search of Patel’s person revealed paraphernalia items including small baggies and needles.

Cookeville Police Officer Jacob Byrd and his K-9 partner, Edo, assisted Officer Harsh. Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle which resulted in the recovery of approximately .7 grams of a crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

The search revealed more paraphernalia items, including a glass pipe.

The release indicates once transported to the Putnam County Justice Center, Patel revealed 3.6 grams of Methamphetamine.

Officials charged Patel with possession of methamphetamine, public intoxication, and introduction of a controlled substance into a penal institution.

Authorities found the female passenger, identified as Constanza Vali, to have outstanding warrants in Putnam County.
