Algood will begin discussing options regarding construction of the farmer’s market.
City Manager Keith Morrison said a citizen, Bryan Henry, offered his services to the city.
“There was a gentleman come in, he’s not here tonight, who is doing some construction outside city hall,” Morrison said. “[He] found out we weren’t doing the farmer’s market. He is a contractor. He said ‘I’ll do it for the cost of the materials.'”
Morrison said the city plans to have Henry look at the market designs during the next work session.
“I’ll get with him and we will get him to come in and talk to him,” Morrison said. “And get him to look at the plans. See what he thinks it will do.”
The City of Algood delayed the farmer’s market project after rejecting high bids in October. The lowest bids came back at just under $200,000.
