The Algood City Council will consider bids for yearly sidewalk repairs this week.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said the three bids include square foot installs, so when a sidewalk needs work, the city has a consistent cost all year.
“We’ve redone sidewalk on main street. We’ve added some in different places to finish off sections and kind of make things flow better,” Morrison said. “So, we keep working on expanding out and replacing sections that are bad.”
Morrison said prices seemed to be in line with past bids. Morrison said construction and material costs do not seem as high anymore but have not completely stabilized.
The bids are on the agenda for a City Council work session Monday and a full council meeting on Tuesday. Morrison said sidewalk improvements are not just for the spring with some projects to start this winter.
