Algood will begin the bidding process for upgrades at the tennis courts.
The rehab process includes resurfacing of the courts, repairs to the fencing, and lining the courts to be used for both tennis and pickleball.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said the bids are due October 4. He said they hope to be ready to consider the bids at the next City Council meeting. The facility is located next to the Algood Post Office
Council also approved the application for several grants for public safety including the Tennessee Highway Safety Office grant and the Tennessee Law Enforcement Hiring, Training, and Recruitment Program grant. The city will also surplus two pieces of equipment including a 2004 garbage truck.
