Algood Online Water Payment System Offline Due To Vendor Issue

Algood’s online water bill payment system is offline due to a systemwide issue with the vendor.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said this is the first problem of this nature the city has encountered with its outside vendor. Morrison said the vendor is having issues system-wide and has currently shut down their overall service to fix the problem.

“At this point, we’ll just keep collecting payment and try to assist the citizens as best we can to make this problem as easy to resolve as we can and as soon as our vendor has online payment back up we’ll put it back out,” Morrison said.

Citizens can make their water bill payments over the phone or through cash, check, or card at the Algood City Hall, 215 West Main Street.

Morrison said Algood found out early Wednesday the company was having system issues, after which staff called BIS to investigate. Morrison said that he is unaware of the cause of the problem BIS is facing, just that they’re temporarily suspending their service.

“We’ve used them for a couple of now years I think,” Morrison said. “And we used them a couple of years before that because they do the credit card payments as well but they also offer the online payment service so we went with that.”

“Just be patient with us, we’ll try to help as best we can.”
