The Green Mountain Water project in Algood set to be completed within the next month.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said all of the water lines are installed. Morrison said the city is waiting on a few parts to install the pump station.
“The city will have additional water lines to serve residents in that area going up to Spring Creek where the line currently ends,” Morrison said. “A lot of those residents as they go up through their experience low pressure at times. So, this would improve the pressure for all of those residents.”
Morrison said the project will also provide additional water taps to unserved residents. Morrison said the expanded water service could mean more residential developments in the area.
The project was made possible through a partnership with Algood and Putnam County. The county allocated some of its federal COVID money to help offset the costs.
