Algood’s new fire hall should be completed within the next month and a half.
Fire Chief Victor Jones said crews began placing insulation in the building last week.
“They are looking at finishing dry wall next week and garage doors should be going up in two weeks,” Jones said. “It’s going to a little bit longer. I think the paving is going to hold them up just a little bit because of the weather.”
A previous timeline had the fire hall scheduled to be completed by Christmas.
Jones said he’s looking forward to utilizing the new facility.
“We’ve been needing this for a long time because we’ve been in a little building for so long,” Jones said. “I know it’s going to be a big benefit to the people of Algood.”
The project will add three double bays along with new training space. EMS will also have the ability to run a 24 hour ambulance service out of the current facility.
