Algood city services will continue to run as normal following the arrest of Public Works Director and Fire Chief Victor Jones.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said those positions have been filled in the interim with individuals from the department.
“They can run the facilities as needed and I’ll help oversee it and help them where they need it and we’ve already met and made plans to do what we need to achieve our goals,” Morrison said. “So we’re not going to see any delays or any loss of service we’re going to continue on and keep our heads up and do what we have to do to take care of our citizens.”
Morrison said Assistant Fire Chief David Judd will step in as Interim Chief. He said Walt Bradshaw will take over the helm of the Public Works Department.
Morrison said at this time, there are no plans to start an official search for new department heads.
“We’re just focusing on taking care of our employees and our citizens,” Morrison said. “And making sure we don’t lose any of our services we are providing.”
