Empower UC To Push Messaging Through Social Media, Community Partners

Empower Upper Cumberland working to improve on slow registration after recently opening the program.

UCDD Executive Director Mark Farley said there are some counties that have seen good turnout, but others that they would like to see more from. He said the goal is to increase coverage for all counties in the Upper Cumberland.

“We always struggle with getting the knowledge out to the citizenry so they can understand that they might be eligible for these services,” “So we’re just trying to look for revenue we can so we can get the message out. And if they’re interested, and they think they may qualify, to reach out to us.”

Farley said they plan on utilizing local partners and social media to boost the program. He said they want to make sure all partners working together to spread the message through tagging and sharing posts.

Farley said the department has a natural client base that they work with in the county offices. He said they are working to make sure those clients are aware of the program if they qualify, and if they do not, to share the information with someone else.
