White Co Friends of Animals Donate Pet Resuscitation Gear To Local Emergency Crews

White County emergency crews are taking an extra step to ensure your pet is safe.

Thanks to the Friends of the White County Animals, all city and county fire trucks as well as K-9 units now have pet resuscitation mask kits.

“Animals tend to get under something if there is smoke or a fire to try and hide,” Langford said. “It can get to the point where they reach a point where they need to be resuscitated. That’s what these do, and they can save lives.”

The coned shaped masks with a rubber seal go around a pet’s snout. It forces the mouth shut, connects to an air tank and delivers air directly into the nostrils.

Langford said the friends group has donated over 10 kits and hosted several trainings over the years. From home fires to automobile accidents, White County crews are prepared to save your pet’s life.
