Celina K-8 Able To Upgrade More Sewer Lines

Clay County School Board approved a change order for work on its Celina K-8 School’s plumbing project.

School Board Chair Benji Bailey said in the original scope of the project, they were unsure if there would be the capability to upgrade or replace certain sewer lines. As work has progressed, it has been determined that there is an opportunity to do so.

“That’s the biggest reason we were able to go through this undertaking,” Bailey said. “Is to alleviate some of the burden that we’ll have to deal with in the future.”

Bailey said the work costs less than $20,000. He said because the school board had contingency funding built into its budget, they feel like this is a great opportunity.

Bailey said they do not foresee the additional upgrades affecting the timeline of the work.
