This Week Clay Considers EMS Raise, Monterey Discusses Bank Options

This week in the Upper Cumberland the Clay County Commission will consider a raise for EMS workers Monday.

The one dollar increase made possible through a $18,000 payment from the county. Celina approved a match in December to assist in the cost. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the county service building.

The Monterey Board of Aldermen will consider banking options to fund its new wastewater treatment plant.

Aldermen have discussed a $6 million credit line over a two-year term. The money will go towards a some $11 million facility at Stewart Avenue near the VFW office. The bid for the project was awarded last year

The Board will consider an ordinance to allow alcohol consumption at special events through a permit process. Bids for a new brush truck and improvements to the Cate-Gil Building also included for the meeting at 7:00 p.m at city hall.

The Livingston Board of Aldermen meets at 6:00 p.m. Monday at city hall.

Tuesday, Algood city employees could receive premium pay from American Rescue Funding. Council members will consider $125 per month of employment for full-time workers and $75 for part-time. Volunteer fire fighters could also receive a payment based on number of calls responded to.

The council will also consider a $1.8 million dollar bond to improve the city’s sewer system. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

The Celina Board of Aldermen meets Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at city hall.

Thursday, the White County School Board meets  at 6:00 p.m. The Clay County School Board gathers the same day at 6:00 p.m. as well.
