Overton Schools Receive Interest In AH Roberts HVAC Replacements

Overton County Schools received sealed bids Tuesday to replace HVAC units at AH Roberts Elementary School.

Director of Schools Donnie Holman said nine units that approach 20 years of service will be replaced.

“There’s several other schools in the district that need additional HVAC units replaced, but rather than us employing contractors and engineers to help us with this, we are trying to decrease the project size,” Holman said.

Holman said the district had two parties interested in the project. Holman said he is pleased to at least receive one bid considering how many HVAC projects are out there.

Holman said once the sealed bids are opened, the Board of Education would then consider a bid winner at its next meeting. Holman said the HVAC project is a part of the school’s spending plan for its second round of federal funding.
