A Fall Creek Falls Father’s Day Weekend offers a little bit of everything for a dad looking to get outdoors.
Park Manager Jacob Young said fishing weather is at its peak and the same goes for golf. Young said waters are at a perfect level for swimming or just getting a refreshing splash from the iconic waterfalls.
“You can come to the big attractions that everyone comes for,” Young said. “But once you’ve been here and done those things and you start digging, there are dozens of different activities that you can branch out to and places that you can see. That honestly, aren’t as crowded and they’re equally beautiful.”
Young said anyone who tried visiting the park last year and got discouraged by crowds should know park visitation is back to normal this year. Young said if families want to treat dad to a day on his own, gift cards are available towards a round of golf or whatever he desires from the pro shop and outfitters.
“You can sign your family up for a nature hike, you can go out on a night float,” Young said. “We do different programs throughout the week. Pontoon tours are extremely popular. Some of these are free programs, some of these are fee based programs.”
Young said managing a park where families from around the country come and make lasting memories provides a special feeling.
“We are truly blessed to have such a place where we can live and breathe and call home and raise our kids,” Young said. “It’s an amazing, beautiful resource and it’s one that is massive. So the opportunities are endless.”
Young said the best way to find exactly what dad wants to do at the park is by checking online to see what suits him best. He said the park will be open this weekend to hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, golf, zip lining and more.
