Livingston Square Celebrating Murals And Sign With Live Music Saturday

A new and improved Livingston will be showcased Saturday as residents get their first look at new artwork and signs.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shannon Cantrell said the Main Street celebration begins at 10:00 a.m.

“We just recently received our Tennessee Main Street road sign that we will be putting up at the entrance of town, as well,” Cantrell said. “It just seemed like a great time to do a ribbon cutting for the murals and to dedicate our new Main Street Sign.”

The state Main Street Program works to revitalize economies of downtown areas. Cantrell said the road sign is just the beginning of what is yet to come.

“This is our year,” Cantrell said. “We’ve got a new board. We are already to go, and this is just one way to signal that our Main Street Designation is here to stay, and we’re ready to get into all the things we need to do to help with community development.”

Cantrell said the event will have live music and photo opportunities with the new murals. Cantrell said the work of arts are located at AC Squared Bakery and the Pickers Palace building.

“They look amazing,” Cantrell said. “This has been a great opportunity for our community to come together. I have heard nothing, but positive things about it.”

Cantrell said parking spaces in front of each mural will be blocked for walking residents. Cantrell said the event comes to a close at noon.
