Clarkrange Convenience Center Set To Open In June

Fentress County will move into the design phase of the new Clarkrange Convenience Center.

County Executive Jimmy Johnson said an engineer will begin creating the layout process and then put the project out to bid. Johnson said it will be an under one mile move to new location on Old Highway 28.

“Hopefully, our deadline is by the end of June, middle of June to have it moved from the site where it is now, right there on 127,” Johnson said. “Moved to this other place and be open for business hopefully by the later part of June.”

Johnson said the Clarkrange Convenience Center is moving because of a T-DOT right of way acquisition. Johnson said the goal is to finish the project for under $100,000. He said the county will use the state money from selling the old center location to T-DOT to fund the new project.
