Livingston Academy will be fully virtual this week due to an abundance of staff being out with COVID or in quarantine.
Director of Schools Mark Winningham said that at least 20 staff members are out at the school. Winningham said the plan is to return in-person next week.
“We had a pretty significant number of staff members who were either isolated or quarantined,” Winningham said. “And, so it is going to become very difficult to have functional school with that number of people out.”
Winningham said that Livingston Academy has been the most affected by COVID since returning from Christmas break. Winningham said the decision to reopen Livingston Academy next week is still tentative, and will be assessed again later in the week.
“That would be the plan as of today,” Winningham said. “Obviously, that could change at any time in the next few days.”
Winningham said the plan is to have healthy staff at the high school during this week. He said any parent with questions about reopening, can call the school and there should be available staff to answer questions.
