Livingston Regional Hospital is taking in patients from Nashville area hospitals as those facilities face capacity issues.
CEO Tim McGill said the hospital managed by sharing PPE and ventilators with sister hospitals and LifePoint Health.
“Last weekend just to give you an example, we had a surge in COVID in-patient admissions in our hospitals. Particularly because Nashville area hospitals were full. Their beds were full, and we had to maintain and hold our own and take care more than the normal.”
During a Friday press conference, McGill said Livingston’s ICU has six beds and ventilators available. McGill said hospitals in Knoxville and Memphis are also near capacity.
“Our physicians, our employees and thanks to our company and sister hospitals supporting us, we made it through very well,” McGill said.
McGill said the hospital has the room for a total of 21 COVID patients.
