State Supreme Court Denies Cartwright Request

The State Supreme Court had denied a request by William Floyd Cartwright to examine his jury conviction for first degree premeditated murder.

Cartwright was convicted in September, 2005 for the murder of Marvin Martin Jr. A co-defendant, Christoper Servo, was charged with facilitation of the murder. The incident happened in August, 2004 at the Cookeville home of Lakeisha Darty.

Cartwright had appealed his conviction based on ineffective assistance by the trial counsel. He also argued the jury received inappropriate instruction.

The Supreme Court denied the request Friday.
