Cookeville’s two Wendy’s restaurants sold more than 3,500 Tennessee Strong decals for tornado relief.
Over 100 Wendy’s franchises across Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Alabama sold the decals at a dollar a piece. The money went towards the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s tornado relief fund. Donor Services Vice President Amy Fair said the Cookeville locations ranked number one.
“The two Wendy’s stores that sold the most decals and raised the most money for the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund was they were both in Putnam County,” Fair said.
Fair said the restaurants raised more over $25,000. The funds will be given to non-profits in Davidson, Wilson and Putnam Counties. Wendy’s 209 located at 230 N. Willow Street sold 2,268 decals and Wendy’s 205 located at 1029 S. Jefferson sold 1,610 decals.
