Hormann Production Delayed

The beginning of production at the White County Hormann facility has been slowed by continued health concerns.

Hormann President Cameron Rudd said the company was having trouble getting needed help from Europe getting new machines operational.

“They have been installed, but getting it actually commissioned has been our issue,” Rudd said. “We have to get the installers from Italy. Until the government starts to allow them in, then it’s going to be a challenge.”

Rudd said as COVID numbers began to spike in Tennessee, Hormann’s suppliers continue to be cautious about sending workers to White County. He said he expects to have a production line open by August 1.

Horrmann is a German multi-national producer of garage doors, serving customers in over 30 countries. The company broke ground on a new 325,000-square foot facility in July of 2018.

The $64-million dollar headquarter-quality facility near the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport is expected to employee more than 200 people when fully operational.
