Grant Swallows said he feels ready to begin as Warren County’s next School Director.
Swallows said although he has loved working nine years as White County High School’s principal, his family was the main reason for applying for the position.
“I’m just excited and really appreciative of the board having confidence in me to offer that [position],” Swallows said. “I know it had to be a tough decision for them, especially me not being in Warren County currently. That’s always a leap of faith, and I appreciate it very much.”
Swallows said he’s excited for this new opportunity, and he’s enjoyed his time as a high school principal.
“It’s been fantastic for me and my family, personally and professionally,” Swallows said. “There are so many great people here at this school, but there comes a time where we all want to advance in our careers. Being able to have the opportunity to be a director of schools is something I feel like I hope I can be good at.”
Navigating through the pandemic and being a part of the school system has attributed to his competence, Swallows said.
“I’m confident that I’ve been prepared,” Swallows said. “I’m confident also that I’ll need help and that’s why you try to surround yourself with good people. I know there are good people in place in Warren County.”
Swallows will replace the previous director of eight years Bobby Cox.
