A spike in the number of White County COVID-19 positive tests Sunday came mostly from one family.
County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said testing uncovered a cluster.
“Obviously, the more you test, the more positives you’re going to get,” Robinson said. “This particular spike seems to be associated with just one family, and they kind of just passed it around their family.”
Robinson said there was no reason for people in White County to be more concerned.
“Of course, we need to be concerned just for the well-being of the public, but there’s noting going on that’s any worse than it was before,” Robinson said.
Robinson said despite the blip, he thinks White County has handled the crisis well.
“Overall, I think we’ve done real well,” Robinson said. “Our numbers have stayed real low. Of course, we had that big jump yesterday, but overall, everything seems to be doing good. People are doing a good job of helping stop the spread.”
With an increase in testing, Robinson said people should expect to see positive cases continue to rise.
“We’re testing a lot more people now, probably twice as many as before for the past week or so,” Robinson said.”Obviously, those numbers will go up.”
