The White County Hormann facility is preparing to begin production in July.
Cameron Rudd, President of Hormann, LLC, said production will begin in phases.
“For the July 4 start, we look to be somewhere around, we currently have 16 people on staff, by that date, we’re looking to hire another 20 to 25,” Rudd said. “That should get our Phase 1 going, and then we’ll add staff as we see the need.”
Horrmann is a German multi-national producer of garage doors, serving customers in over 30 countries. They employ more than 6,000 people in plants in Europe, North America, and China. Rudd said even though it will take time, the numbers of workers Hormann needs will climb.
“The goal is once we get entirely through Phase 2, we’ll have around 150 to 200 folks here,” Rudd said.
Rudd said the new facility near the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport will go beyond just production.
“It intended to be a headquarter-quality facility,” Rudd said. “Our plan here is to not only produce the products and ship them from here, but we also our R&D and engineering is here now. We plan on having our training facilities here. There’s a show room with 4,000 square feet to be able to display our products.”
Hormann broke ground on the 325,000 square foot facility in July of 2018.
