Cookeville Planners To Consider 16-Lot Subdivision

The Cookeville Planning Commission meets Monday to consider a preliminary plat for a new subdivision.

Planning Department Director John Ward said the proposed 16-lot duplex development will be located on Cora Road.

“There will be 32 units out there and one proposed new street (Brook View Drive) ending in a cul de sac,” Ward said. “There will be some lots fronting on Cora Road, but everything else will be located on a new city street.”

The property sits at the northern boundary of the city limits. Cookeville planners recently approved a subdivision along the same road, across from the Lowell Creek Assisted Living facility.

“They will have to construct new sidewalks along Brooke View Drive,” Ward said. “You’re only allowed to have a 3-percent max grade at the intersection point with Cora, but the developer says he can meet that.”

The Cookeville Planning Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday inside city hall.
