Obituaries For Wednesday, October 9

Mr. William Paul Bluege, age 80 of Cookeville and formerly of Jefferson, Wisconsin, died Tuesday morning, October 8th at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements for Mr. Bluege are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Madellon Sewell Stewart, age 99 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019, beginning at 11:00 am from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro.Clarence DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow in Overton Memorial Gardens in Livingston. She passed from this life Monday, October 7, 2019 at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville. Mrs. Edith was born Saturday, March 20, 1920 in the Willow Grove community of Clay County, Tennessee, She was the daughter of the late Willie Forest (Snake) Colson and the late Hattie May Nelson Colson. Mrs. Stewart graduated from Willow Grove High School in 1938, She attended Baxter Seminary and studied sheet metal working. During World War II, she worked in an aircraft factory in Mobile, Alabama where she remembered working on the Memphis Belle. Later she moved to Nashville and worked at Life and Casualty. After moving back to Sparta, she worked at Federal Land Bank. She was an active member of Willow Ave. Church of Christ while living in Cookeville. Mrs. Stewart influenced many friends and families with her fine Christian values. She enjoyed sewing, quilt making, and cooking for friends and family. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 5 pm until 8 pm and again Thursday from 9 am until time of service.

Funeral services for Janice Marie McHenry, 79 of Baxter, will be Thursday, October 10 at 11 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. McHenry died Monday morning, October 7, 2019 at Bailey Manor of Cookeville. She was born July 20, 1940 in Putnam County to the late Joe Hilary and Effie Velma Cooper Livesay. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Willie Roy McHenry, sisters Sheila Earline (Clarence Vestle) Nelson and Lillian Jo (John Estle) Nelson, brother Clarence Burton Livesay. She was a graduate of Algood High School. She was a homemaker and member of Baxter Church of Christ. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law James Douglas “Bud” and Lori Anne (Hutchings) Livesay of Sparta, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Claude and Carolyn McHenry of Baxter, Judy (Brown) Livesay, several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services For Mary Lou Poston, Age 77, Of The Anderson Community Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Thursday, October 10, 2019, At 11:00 AM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Harris And Kim Seebach Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Phillips Cemetery In The Anderson Community. Mrs. Poston Was Born On April 14, 1942, In Monterey, To The Late Cordell And Rachel Phillips Harris. Mrs. Poston Passed Away On Sunday, October 6, 2019, At Her Home Surrounded By Family And Friends. Mrs. Poston Was A Retired Factory Worker. She Worked With Ely And Walker Until Closing Then Went To Work With Perdue Farms Until She Retired. She Ended Her Working Career At Standing Stone Rehabilitation Center. She Was A Member Of Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She Is Survived By, 2 Sisters, Jerlene Bumbalough Of Sparta, Christine Farley Of Monterey; Aunt, Alberta Farley Of Monterey; A Host Of Nieces And Nephews; And Special Friends, Bessie And Bobbie Lee Of Monterey. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Beloved Husband Of 42 Years, Allen Poston; Sister, Bessie McCloud; And Brother, Lonnie Harris. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM And On Thursday, October 10, 2019, From 10:00 AM Until Time Of Services At 11:00 AM.

A Funeral Service for Randy Scott Simmons, 56, of Doyle, will be held on Thursday October 10, 2019 1 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Savage officiating with burial to follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Randy passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at his home. He was born December 25, 1962 to Jack and Dean Hummel Simmons in Sparta. Proceeded in Death Father- Jack Simmons, Brother- David Simmons, and Sister- Tena Robinson. Survivors include; Wife- Dianne Haley Simmons, Mother- Dean Hummel Simmons, Brothers- Ricky Simmons (Sissy), and Jackie (Butch) Simmons, Sister- Diana Sidwell (Johnny), Nieces- Brittany Hines, Kendra Simmons, and Chelsea Carter, Nephews- Seth Simmons, and Brandon Robinson (Keri),Great Nieces and Nephews- Raylan Robinson, Triston O’Neal, Damion Pearson, Korben Simmons, Pax Ward, Bailee Ward, Wayne and Valerie Yelverton, Justin and Jayrah Haley and Children, Jason and Heather Haley and Children, Jimbo and Leann Haley and Children, Terry and Gina Haley and Daughter, Bryan and Cindy Haley and Children, Jimmy and Sandra Sparkman and Children, John and Angie Haley and Son, and a host of friends and family. Funeral Service for June Elizabeth Johnson Oaks, 84, of Sparta, will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Curtis Guest officiating, Burial will follow at Frasier and Gracey Cemetery. June passed away Tuesday October 8, 2019 in Sparta. She was born November 28, 1934 to the late James and Ruth Kirk Johnson in Union City. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Sparta, Pastor Curtis Guest. June Loved the LORD and her family. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and watching her favorite bird, the hummingbird. She was a great cook; she cooked every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner until she turned 80. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by; Brother- John Raymond Johnson, and Sister Mary Corum. Survivors include; Husband- Jim Oaks of Sparta; Sisters- Carolyn Johnson Raines of Belleville, Michigan and Betty Johnson Vowell of South Fulton; Children- Patricia Dale of Hendersonville, William Dale (Alicia) of Fairfield Glade, Donna Gibson of Sparta, and James (Jim) Oaks (Brenda) of Sparta; 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Terry Edgington, 85 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, October 11th at 5 p.m. at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Bro. Buddy Johnson will officiate. Mr. Edgington died Monday evening, October 7, 2019 at NHC Healthcare, Cookeville. His family will receive friends Friday from 3 p.m. until service time at the church.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Julia Ann Arney Rich, age 60, of Rickman will be conducted 7 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at a later date. Mrs. Julia Ann Rich passed from this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from the Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born in Overton County on March 14, 1959 to Emma Crouch Arney Maguire and the late Billy Coe Arney. Julia was a licensed esthetician, and Pentecostal in faith. She loved raising flowers and gardening. Julia loved her job, animals, especially dogs and cats, shopping with her grandkids, and studying her bible. Julia would start her day reading her bible, praying and having a cup of hot coffee on her back porch with her husband Kelly. Julia leaves behind her husband Kelly Rich of Rickman; son Eric Reagan & wife Adrienne of Powell; grandchildren, Wesley, Emma, Ava & William Reagan; mother, Emma Crouch Arney Maguire of Rickman; sisters, Cindy Mitchell of Byrdstown, and Susan Storie & husband Joe of Plant City, Florida; several nieces and nephews. Julia was preceded in death by her father. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until time of services at 7 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Billye Joyce Howell Ross, 85 age of Sparta, will be Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Central Church of Christ. Interment at Elrod Cemetery, Officiating will be Bro. Christopher Wiles. Billye passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at NHC of Sparta. Billye was born on December 10, 1933 in Springfield to William Ira Howell and Gladys Griffin Howell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years Dr. Jeff Pinckley Ross and brother, Tillman Cason “T.C.” Howell. Survivors include her Son: Dr. Joseph Marc Ross and wife Patti; her  Grandchildren: Carrie Ross Abood and husband Adam, Joseph Adam Ross and wife Stephanie, Jacob Andrew Ross, Mary Katherine Ross; and  her Great-grandchildren: Asher Ross, Eden Abood, Abraham Abood, Noah Ross, Annelise Ross and Atticus Ross; Sister, Carolyn Acuff and husband John; Sister in laws, Karyl Howell and Ola Tubb Jones and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at Central Church of Christ, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Charity of your choice.

Memorial Graveside Services for Mary Mae Clark, age 88 of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00AM at Zion Hill Cemetery. Pastor Tommy Harris will officiate. Mary Mae Clark passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mary was born on January 5, 1931 in Alamo, Indiana to the late Charles and Bertha (White) Ammerman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister and 2 Brothers.

A Memorial Service for Patricia C. Farley, 80, of Sparta will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 3:30 pm at North Sparta Church of GOD with Bro. Steve Gerhart officiating. She passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at her home in Sparta. Mrs. Farley was born on November 7, 1938 to the late Walter Alford Richard Rainbird and Connie May Harrington Rainbird in Watford, England. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Brother- Roy Alford Richard Rainbird. Survivors include: Daughter- Debbie Farley Roberts (Henry)of Sparta; Son- Larry Dale Farley; And many special family members. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 2:00-3:30 at the Church.
