Putnam Planning Commission Elects New Officers

Two new members joined the Putnam County Regional Planning Commission this week.

David Mattson and Jeff Jones replace retiring members J. Richard Wright and Kay Detwiler.

Putnam County Planning Director Kevin Rush said both men join a commission that has an important role in the county.

“The Planning Commission does have a vital role in development and planning for the county,” Rush said. “We welcome our new members. It’s a vital part, and a lot of times it’s a thankless part, so we thank you for serving.”

Wright and Detwiler previously served as chairman and vice chairman of the commission. With their retirements last month, the commission elected new officers to fill those positions during Tuesday’s meeting.

Jere Mason will serve as commission chairman and Dale Moss as vice chairman. Mike Atwood will continue to serve as the commission secretary.
