A Cookeville man faces charges for allegedly stealing prescription medication from a home.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office charged John Pearson with aggravated burglary and theft. He remains behind bars on $21,000 bond.
An arrest warrant accuses Pearson of entering the victim’s home without permission on Friday and stealing 20 morphine tablets and 10 zohydro pills. The report said a video recording showed Pearson searching through drawers and finding the medications belonging to the homeowner.
Deputy Willie Smith’s said Pearson obtained the keys to the home from a sister of the female resident. The warrant said he entered the home without the owner’s permission.
