Obituaries For Friday, September 20

Funeral Services for Ms. Anna Dell Danner, age 85, of Hilham will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Donald Fossey will officiate. Burial to follow in the Campground Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening, September 20, 2019 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Ms. Anna passed from this life on Wednesday morning, September 18, 2019 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. She was born in Overton County, Tennessee to the late Amos W. & Ollie Lee Livingston Danner. Anna was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Livingston. She enjoyed gardening, participating in the Republican Party and working in the voting booths during the election. Anna was the trustee and treasurer of the Campground Cemetery for 21 years. She retired from the Livingston Manufacturing Company.

Funeral services for Retha Hellon Brock, 77 of Cookeville, will be Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Thurman Funeral Home. Interment at Old Philadelphia, Officiating Bro. Nathan Hawkins. She passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at her home in Cookeville, Tennessee. Retha was born on January 13, 1942 in White County, Tennessee to Noah Hull Usrey and Katherine Mae Roberts Usrey. Family will receive friends Saturday, September 21, 2019 in the chapel of Thurman Funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Celebration of Life Gathering for Connie “Susan” McReynolds, 67 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Cream City Ice Cream and Coffee House in Cookeville, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Susan passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at her home. Susan was born Tuesday, October 16, 1951, in Cookeville. She was the daughter of the late Walter McReynolds and the late Eva (Brown) McReynolds. Susan was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and granny Susan. She was known for her infectious laugh, her love of animals, and gifting special trinkets. Susan will be missed by all that knew her. Susan is survived by: Son: Jason and Christa Gooch; Grandson: Grant Gooch and fiancee Rebecca Buckner; 2 Brothers: Stanley McReynolds; Richard and Jan McReynolds; Sister: Judy Medley; Numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by Husband, Harry Gooch.

Funeral services for Harold (Hal) Taylor Qualls, 76 of Chandler, Arizona, formerly of Cookeville will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Edwards and Bro. Larry Bates officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville, Tennessee. He passed from this life Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the Chandler Regional Hospital in Chandler, Arizona. Harold was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1942. He was the son of the late Harvey L. and Dimple L. Qualls. He was a member of the Chandler Church of Christ in Chandler, Arizona, and was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps., worked for Hadley Auto Transports in L.A. California. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, from 11:00 AM to time of service at 2:00 PM.

Funeral service for Robert Carlon Watson age 87 of Stockbridge, Michigan, and formerly of Baxter, will be at 11 AM Saturday, September 28 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Cookeville. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 surrounded by his family at The Willows at Howell, in Howell, Michigan. Robert Carlon was born to the late Leslie Grady Watson and Mary Sallie Nixon Watson on September 7, 1932 in DeKalb County. In 1951 Robert married the love of his life, Pamela Doris who preceded him in death. Shortly after uniting in marriage they moved to Detroit, Michigan pursuing work with the common goal to build a beautiful life together. Robert Carlon and Pamela Doris raised four wonderful children together during their time in Michigan. In 1997, after his retirement from Livonia Public Schools they decided to head back to their roots and established their farm in Baxter, where they spent the next 21 years together. During those wonderful years he enjoyed spending time with his beautiful wife working together on their farm, raising their goats, caring for their dogs and cats, and appreciating regular visits with family and friends. Together they found a relationship with the Lord and gained many new friendships at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where they became members shortly after returning to Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Pamela Doris Jernigan Watson on September 7, 2018, brother Jim Grady Watson, and sisters Jewel Price, Ruth Wilson, Carlene Helm and Lois Clemons. Survivors include four children: daughter Myra (Hank) DeHerder of Shelby Twp, Michigan, sons Roger (Laura Brown) Watson of Lacock, England, Tim (Kathy) Watson of Somers, Wisconsin, Tom (Jackie) Watson of Stockbridge, Michigan, brother Jim Watson of Baxter, six grandchildren: Hendrik DeHerder, Lindsay (Trevor) Kindlon, Ben Watson, Kathryn (Teo) Watson-Ahlbrandt, Jason (Amy) Watson and Crystal (Wesley) Monahan, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Friday, September 27 from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Saturday at the church.
