Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber Search Continues

The Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce hopes to name a new president in the near future.

Interim President David Rutherford said interviews for the position will wrap up very soon.

“We have had two interviews. Two candidates interviewed last week,” Rutherford said. “I think it’s probably going to be that we have one more candidate to interview. We should be ready to make a decision within the next couple of week.”

The chamber began advertising the job opening more than two months ago shortly after the resignation of Brad Allamong. Rutherford said the chamber received a total of 37 applications.

“It’s a long process and the board is taking their responsibility in good stead to try to make the right decision,” Rutherford said “because it is important that the chamber has the right people in places to help the community move forward.”

Rutherford said he hopes to have a permanent president hired by the first of October.
