Jamestown Woman Escapes Injuries In Tuesday Night Crash

A woman from Jamestown escaped injuries when her vehicle rolled over on Interstate 40 in Putnam County Tuesday night.

19-year-old Chesney Richards was driving East near mile marker 298 when the crash occurred.

Richards told the Tennessee Highway Patrol that her vehicle hydroplaned and drove off the left side of the roadway. A THP crash report said the vehicle rolled over and became entwined in cable barriers before coming to a final rest.

Authorities did not issue any charges. The crash caused one West and eastbound lane to be shut down for an extended period of time.
