Today In The Upper Cumberland: Vaccines

TN Immunization Program’s Michelle Fiscus discusses the anti-vaccine movement.

It’s been called by some the anti-vaccine movement. Some call it a regression in modern medicine. Parents choosing not to vaccinate their children because of fear that the vaccines can do more harm than good. This idea has been around for decades, but it has gained footing in recent years as concerns grow about autism, ADHD, and other medical issues that we simply do not understand. And its prevalence has made headlines as numerous states have seen illness outbreaks not seen in decades. For insight, we turn to Michelle Fiscus, the head of Tennessee’s Immunization Program.
