A convicted sex offender has landed behind bars for visiting Crossville’s Centennial Park Thursday.
Officers charged Willie Ashton Dyal with violation of the sex offender registry. Dyal’s conviction prohibits him from entering places where children may be present.
An arrest report said authorities came in contact with Dyal after observing his vehicle at the Turner Complex. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 28-year-old after learning about his registry status.
Dyal became a member of the sex offender registry after his 2012 conviction for attempt to commit aggravated sexual battery.
